This in-game capture I took on October 26, 2004.
I’ve spent 90% of this month going through the whole story of the game piece-by-piece with hundreds of pictures/animated gifs of my television set.
Using the same phat PS2. The one save file on my memory card that’s over 2,000 in KB. All the gripe over the “definitive” edition they released when I wouldn’t trade the original hardware for anything in the world.
It’s underwhelming that Rockstar couldn’t be bothered to say anything at all today. I know trying to remaster the Trilogy with ai was a rightful fucking flop, but this was a breakthrough’s breakthrough of a breakthrough hit. You’ve sold billions on this alone. Veteran status and a historical achievement for open-worlds everywhere.
Basically for the tribute I made on Swim boards, I had just got finished with a 100% completion run only a short time before... so the burnout was there before anything began. But then I went through the whole game again just for some CRT shots, and had fun playing all over again. Just like the dozens of other times.
Might not seem like a big deal if it’s already in my #1 spot to begin with, but it really is timeless fun. The environment’s just alive as you’re playing. They simply don’t make them like they used to.
