[Futurama: The World is Hot Enough]

 Alright. I guess we gotta talk about Crimes of The Hot.

Remember that notorious gag with the ice cube? Yeah. That’s all most people have to remember the episode. The real satirical meat of that show was less than halfway into the runtime.

You’ll be stumped to find anyone run up and say they remember that episode fondly because Bender’s bonding with a turtle or whatever.

It went about the subject matter okay for its time. It’s really the only show that genuinely tried with the topic, and has a few decent bits even when it’s far miles away from being the best.

 

The resentment I have for the season 4 episode goes as followed:

Any simple critique on how ass this return is... ALWAYS happened to be met with “Futurama Global Warming!” 

It gave you a head-splitting aneurysm that fanboys acted as though anyone was seriously negating that satire fucking existed in Futurama, and not that we were just upset over shitty and non funny satire being made.

Was ALWAYS brought up in bad faith. Most of them didn’t even know what the fuck Napster was, since robot Lucy Liu clones were enough for their binky.


Let alone the fact absolutely none of them give a shit about the actual quality of the S4 episode... they “go over” the subject again in modern times and it’s somehow even more nothing than what they had to go on in 2003. 

So now you have no reason to bring up Crimes of The Hot ever again.
